In The Beginning, God—Rested
Our own multi-faceted Coffee Director, Kari Pendleton, took to the podium for Women's History Month and spoke at Progressive Baptist Church Women's Discipleship Conference.
Speaking to the conference theme of rest, Kari used Genesis 1:1-2:3 to demonstrate that God built sabbath into the very fabric of creation and gifted it to us with purpose. He expected His children to trust in Him for provision and physical rest. Sabbath is a spiritual discipline that is necessary, but often neglected.
Kari gave a clear understanding of how the book of Genesis defines the Sabbath and shared with the women ways that the practice of Sabbath rest can be implemented to grow their faith and renew them physically.
