With over a decade of childcare experience, Patrice Darby is committed to helping families develop more balanced lives by merging childcare with technology. Her pursuit began as an assistant preschool teacher and continued beyond college as she earned her BA in Education. Patrice has operated in numerous leadership roles including: assistant preschool teacher, assistant director, camp counselor, youth director, program director, nanny, and soccer coach throughout Illinois and Michigan.
Patrice recently launched GoNanny, a modern-day care service for busy parents with active kids. When late meetings, work engagements, or extensive grocery shopping inhibits parents from caring for their child’s on the go needs, GoNanny is available as a support system for the entire family. Parents can schedule single or reoccurring care and rides as far in advance as their needs require. Through GoNanny’s premium service Morning or Evening Assistance, the family’s GoNanny can lend the extra hand they need during the most hectic hours of the day. From getting the kids to soccer practice, karate, tutoring, or Nana’s house – whatever their needs are – GoNanny is there to help. GoNanny’s technology enabled features and rigorous screening system establishes GoNanny as an innovative, safe, and trustworthy approach to childcare on the go.
Patrice was selected as a 2016 Invest Chicago funding recipient through Goodcity, and was also winner of the UPS Store Elevator Pitch Competition with Marcus Lemonis.
“The care needs of a family are always evolving, but the childcare industry has been stagnant for well over 20 years, creating a lack of flexible options for parents. At GoNanny, our approach is from a childcare perspective. We use technology to enhance what we specialize in, providing the highest quality of care and safety. By merging the two, we’ve created a service that evolves with your family through every stage of growth.”
